Mohammed A. Ahli, CEO

H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Ahli commenced his aviation career in 1966 with dnata (Dubai National Air Travel Agency) and held several key positions leading to the position of Director, Ground Services.

In 1982, he moved to the Department of Civil Aviation, presently the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, as the Operations Director, responsible for all Airport Operations and International Affairs. He represented the Federal Government at several high level ICAO meetings, and played a key role in the establishment of the Airspace for the United Arab Emirates.

In addition to the enormous task of managing Airport Operations, he also held the Chairmanship of Gulf Airport Services Association (GASA) with distinction for two years. He was an active member of Arab Organisation of Civil Aviation (AOCA) and was a member of Governing Board of ACI. He was also the Vice President of ACI –Asia Pacific Region and was a popular figure among International Airport Operators.

He was also instrumental in establishing the Executive Flight Services and Safety & Security Department in the DCA. His continued efforts to enhance the safety standards at the airport have been widely appreciated.

He is an ardent promotor of the “Open Skies Policy” and is strenuously working towards its implementation in the Gulf.

Mr. Ahli has awarded the “ICAO scroll of Honour” in 2011, for his contribution in organizing and hosting the innovative International Civil Aviation Negotiation (ICAN) Conference held in Dubai in 2008.

He was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans), responsible for the provision of Air Traffic Services within Dubai Airspace in addition to his duties as the Director General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA).

Ibrahim Ahli, Deputy CEO

Highly respected for his contributions to the UAE’s air traffic management sector, Ibrahim Ahli graduated from Dubai Aviation College in 1996 to start his career as an air traffic controller. He later became an ATC instructor, and then held managerial and directorial positions before being appointed as dans’ chief operating officer. He has been a key enabler for dans’ transformation into an independent ANS provider, and under his leadership the company has successfully implemented various innovative solutions to tackle key ATM challenges. For many years, Ibrahim has also been the deputy chairman of the Flying Control Committee for the prestigious Dubai Air Show.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, Executive Vice President of Operations

A key figure within the UAE aviation sector, Abdulla Al Hashmi is highly regarded for his role in developing the country’s ATM capabilities. Starting as an air traffic control officer with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in 2000, he subsequently joined the R&D team at the Sheikh Zayed Centre in 2006 to develop radar, ATM and power systems. Prior to joining dans, he was appointed the GCAA’s Director of Air Traffic Management in 2012. Abdulla also chairs the National Air Space Advisory Committee (NASAC) work group that leads the UAE Airspace Restructuring Project and develops innovative solutions for the nation’s airspace.
